We provide free, confidential and impartial advice and campaign on big issues affecting people's lives. Our goal is to help everyone find a way forward, whatever problem they face. We are an independent charity and part of the Citizens Advice network across England and Wales. We do NOT offer face to face appointments at our office at the Wesley Memorial Hall. We run drop-in face to face services at the: • Oxford County Library in the Westgate Centre (OX1 1DJ) from 10 am to 1 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays; • Bullingdon Community Centre (OX3 7HU) from 10 am to 12 pm on Thursdays only; • Cutteslowe Community Centre (OX2 7SX) from 1 pm to 3 pm on Wednesdays only; We also offer telephone and email advice from 9-5, Monday-Fridays. Our Adviceline telephone number is 0808 278 7909 or clients can contact us using the form available on our website at: https://www.citizensadviceoxford.org.uk/ Clients who are referred to us via Refernet will be contacted to offer an appointment with one of our trained advisers. Advice can be given by telephone, email or AV link.

Better Housing Better Health

Description

Better Housing Better Health (BHBH) is a free energy advice service working to reduce and prevent the number of people in fuel poverty, and so improve health and well-being. It is coordinated by the National Energy Foundation and is a network of many other health and social care orientated organisations, with a cross-referral mechanism in place to maximise help available to residents. BHBH operates across Oxfordshire and can offer support with energy bills, switching provider/tariff, accessing grants and funding for energy efficiency measure or any aspect of keeping warm at home. BHBH offers a free helpline on 0800 107 0044 (Monday-Friday 9am - 5pm) or we can be contacted via email at bhbh@nef.org.uk. We also offer BHBH+ which is a free home energy service for vulnerable residents in Oxfordshire supported by Oxfordshire County Council and the NHS CCG. Our trained home energy advisor can offer advice on things such as insulation, heating systems, and advise on your energy bills during a free home energy visit. They will assess your property and refer or signpost you to other services that can help you save money and stay warm and well in your home. Barton Advice Centre In 1987 The Barton Advice Centre (BAC) was set up after it became clear that an advice centre was needed to serve the community. The advice centre drop in service is open to all residents living in the OX3 area of Oxford City. We can advise on debt, benefits, housing, family matters and community care. We may refer you to more appropriate services if needed. As well as our benefits specialists we also have a specialist debt worker who is able to assist with Debt Relief Orders. Advice can be given on our telephone advice line to all Oxford City residents.
